Juan Carlos Collazo’s Reflejos del Desierto Fall/Winter 2019-20 Collection Review

May 24, 2019

Reflejos del Desierto is dedicated to and inspired by, “the woman sure of herself and with the strength to impact on any occasion.” – Juan Carlos Collazo

The Reflejos del Desierto (Reflection of the Desert) Fall/Winter 2019-2020 collection debuted at this past Puerto Rico Fashion Week. Some familiar faces, to those in the pageant world, graced the Reflejos del Desierto Collection runway: Stephanie Del Valle Diaz (Miss World 2016), Alejandra Pagán Crespo (Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2018 1st runner up), Valerie Hernández-Matías (Miss International 2014), and more. I rarely say this, but I love every single piece in this collection. There is nothing I dislike or would want to tweak about any of the clothes. The sheer and light colored fabrics adorned with sequins and beads catch the light in a way that truly emanates “reflejos”. When clothing has patterns, it can get too busy, but the subtleness of the colors used to create the designs and the overall placement of the pattern is what makes these clothes tasteful. Reflejos del Desierto offers different types of clothing (long gown, short dress, and jumpsuit) with a variety of formations while still having the natural flow a collection should have. The details and the amount of thought that went into creating this collection paid off; it is absolutely marvelous. The pieces from Juan Carlos Collazo’s latest collection will make anyone who wears them feel empowered and shine.

Here are a few of the pieces from the collection.
