On February 7th, new Czech Republic queens will be crowned. Five queens will be selected and they will each go on and represent their country in their respective international pageants. The winner will go and represent the Czech Republic at Miss World, 1st runner-up will go to Miss Grand International, 2nd runner-up to Miss International, 3rd runner-up to Miss Intercontinental, and 4th runner-up to Miss Global. The Czech Republic is yet to capture the Miss Grand International, Miss International, and Miss Global crowns. The only time the Czech Republic won the Miss World crown was back in 2006 with Taťána Kuchařová. Could this be the year Czech Republic takes home a crown? Let’s take a look at the Top 10 Finalists.
Top 10 Finalists
- Miroslava Pikolová
- Andrea Prchalová
- Kateřina Zálišová
- Nela Novorytová
- Denisa Spergerová
- Nikol Zimlová
- Nicolle Vymětalová
- Hana Vágnerová
- Maria Boichenko
- Denisa Czervoniaková
I have to tip my hat to Taťána Makarenko and all the casting judges that went around the country to find these amazing girls because I have been contemplating who will be in the top five and who will take which crown for the past week and my list of who is going to make it changed multiple times. I have had every finalist in my top five at least once because I believe any of these girls could represent their country well. With that being said, here are my current the top five picks and the crowns in which they will take.
4th Runner-up – Miss Global Czech Republic 2019: Denisa Czervoniaková
Denisa is so cute! She seems so sweet, caring, and like the “girl next door”. One quality beauty queens need is approachability because a big part of their job is working with the public and Denisa definitely has that quality. Part of me really wants to put her as the winner of the Miss International Czech Republic title because she is, like I said, cute, sweet, youthful, and approachable so I think the Japanese public would really gravitate towards her. The only reason why I did not place her with the International title is because I have not heard her speak in a formal interview way. I have seen videos of her casually speaking, but not in an interview setting. In a formal interview setting you will be able to see how well someone articulates as well as answer questions on the spot.
3rd Runner-up – Miss Intercontinental Czech Republic 2019: Maria Boichenko
This multilingual beauty placed third in the Best in Swimsuit competition that was held in Croatia this last September. Based on her performance in the swimsuit competition and the behind the scenes video of the promo for the pageant on her Instagram, she has a great, elegant walk and a fun personality. This video showcases Maria’s fun side because by doing a little dance move while waiting for the director to give her the cue to go. Like Denisa Czervoniaková, I have not seen a video of her formally speaking, but if she can speak and answer questions under pressure like she answered the questions in her profile then I’m sure she will rank higher.
2nd Runner-up – Miss International Czech Republic 2019: Nicolle Vymětalová
At first, I wasn’t blown out of the water with Nicolle’s profile answers but once I saw one of her interviews, even though I do not speak Czech, I was pleasantly surprised. She spoke with grace, elegance, and what seems to be ease. She also bagged the second place spot in the Best in Swimsuit competition. Overall, this girl looks like she is ready for the international stage.
1st Runner-up – Miss Grand International Czech Republic 2019: Miroslava Pikolová
WOW! This girl is fierce and didn’t come here just to play, she means business. Even though Miroslava didn’t place in the Best in Swimsuit competition, I don’t really know how that happened, she has a killer body and runway walk. With her prior experience in Česká Miss, I’m not surprised on how well of a performance she is giving. Her walk, speech, and overall presentation are something that should not be overlooked.
Miss World Czech Republic 2019: Denisa Spergerová
After reading Denisa’s bio, watching videos, and looking over her Instagram, she is very much one of the front runners in this competition and for good reason. She is well spoken, has a great runway walk, and seems down to earth. Also, she won the Best in Swimsuit competition which not only makes her one of the top contestants for the World title, but it also puts more weight on her shoulders knowing that people are expecting her to give a stellar performance on final night (even though I’m sure she will do it anyways).
My dad once told to me, “Anyone can be better than anyone on any given night,” and I think this is going to be the motto for this edition of Miss Czech Republic. Any of these girls, the ones I listed in the top five and the ones I didn’t, have a good shot at taking home a crown, so it is going to really come down to the coronation night.
I wish all the finalists the best of luck and can’t wait to see who gets to represent their country on the international stage.
