The Miss Grand Thailand 2019 Preliminary Competition was held today (Thursday, July 11, 2019) where the 77 contestants graced the stage in evening gowns and swimwear. The stage, lightning, and the overall production, like every year, was amazing. The stage had a runway for the girls to walk down as well as a large circular platform for the audience and judges to see the girls at all angles. To me, the circular part of the stage and the angles the cameras were placed at made the contestants feel not as 2-D (for lack of a better word). It really made the audience watching from home feel like we were there in the arena. The background, lighting, and music for each section of the show was perfectly handpicked and I wouldn’t change a thing. The host, Miss Grand Thailand 2017 Pamela Pasinetti, did a wonderful job. There are times when hosts can get a bit dry and not be entertaining enough to keep the audience interested, but that was not a problem, at least for me, with Pamela hosting. Something that I think many people around the world appreciated was that Pamela hosted the show in both Thai and English so viewers who tuned in who do not speak Thai could understand what was being said.
The overall performance the girls put on was great. There were a couple trips throughout the show, but the girls who did trip carried on with grace and poise like it never happened. After the prelim competitions the Top 5 Best in Swimsuit were named: Miss Grand Surat, Trad, Chiang Mai, Rayong, and Nakhon Phanom. Now, here are my Top 25 in swimsuit and evening gown.
