Fashion week is well on its way in the Big Apple, and among the many collections being debuted there was the Ralph Lauren Spring 2019 fashion show. Ralph Lauren is known to be one of the most well-known and respected brands in the world. Their classic, sophisticated but yet reinvented designs is what makes Ralph Lauren stand the test of time. Last week the Ralph Lauren Spring 2019 show occurred at the Madison Avenue Women’s Flagship store which was turned into Ralph’s Café. The Ralph’s Café looked like a quaint, but regal Parisian bistro with a small meal being served to the attendees while they viewed the new collection. While the atmosphere was regal and polished, it also had a homey feel which was what Ralph Lauren was envisioning.
“To bring the fresh spirit and modern glamour of my Spring 2019 women’s Collection to life, I decided to share it in the charming environment of my new Ralph’s Café on Madison Avenue. I wanted to create an intimate experience to share my vision in a more personal way.” – Ralph Lauren
The collection consisted of black, white, and gold shades. Having the gold against the black, white, or black and white pieces really added a touch of glamour to the outfits. Sometimes someone can go a little too far with the color that is “in” at the time, but the gold was done tastefully in this collection. Yes, even the full gold metallic and/or glittery outfits didn’t overpower the overall design, but made you take a second look and admire these creations of art. The wide-legged pants graced the runway multiple times throughout the show along with admiral and tuxedo jackets, big (but not distasteful) gold earrings, and flowy gowns.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces:
The overall collection was stunning. It was an uptown modern take on the glamorous classics that make Ralph Lauren one to last a life time.
